剧情简介：Thetwenty-thirdseasonofSaturdayNightLive,anAmericansketchcomedyseries,originallyairedintheUnitedStatesonNBCbetweenSeptember27,1997,andMay9,1998. Afewchangeshappenedbeforethestartoftheseason;ColinQuinnwaspromotedtorepertorystatusandMarkMcKinneylefttheshowwhileFredWolfleftinthestartofthetwenty-secondseason.Thisseasonwasalsonotablefornothavinganyfeaturedplayersoranynewcastmembers.Thisseasonwasalsotheonlyseasontohaveanopeningsequencethatdidn'tshowanyshotsofNewYorkCity,beingreplacedbya1950's-inspireddesign. ThisseasonwasnotableforthecontroversysurroundingWeekendUpdate.AnchorNormMacdonaldangeredNBCexecutiveDonOhlmeyer.MacdonaldoftentoldO.J.SimpsonjokesintheUpdatesegmentwhichupsetOhlmeyer,whowasgoodfriendswithSimpsonanddidnotfindthejokesfunny.OhlmeyerthenfiredMacdonaldfromthesegment,butnotfromtheshow,sinceOhlmeyerthoughthedidbetterinsketchesthanonUpdate.HisfinalUpdatewasintheepisodehostedbyHelenHunt.QuinnwasthenpromotedtothejobandbegananchoringthesegmentintheepisodehostedbySamuelL.Jackson.EventhoughMacdonaldstillperformedinsketches,hewasnothappyandhisstayontheshowwasshort-lived.HeendedupquittingtheshowafewmonthsaftergettingdemotedfromWeekendUpdate.HisfinalappearancewasintheshowhostedbyJulianneMoore.
